“I believe in journalism.” Yeah, when Walter Williams wrote that as part of The Journalist’s Creed, it was true of himself and most people. However, today it’s a different story. Actually it’s more of a narrative being pushed as propaganda rather than “news.” Has journalism betrayed the public trust? Why? And is there any way back? As marketers, where does this leave us in terms of public relations, advertising and other tools that rely on the public’s trust in our news media?
