D’Addario’s Rob Cunningham – Excellence in Business and Music

D’Addario is a manufacturer of musical instrument strings and accessories for fretted and orchestral instruments. It is a family-owned business that is one of the largest string manufacturers in the world.

Originally located in Lynbrook, New York, the business continued to expand and in 1994 moved to its current facility in Farmingdale, New York with its European headquarters located in Newcastle, England. The company is still owned and operated by the D’Addario family, with 13 family members among the 1,000 employees of the company.

D’Addario was founded 45 years ago in 1974. My guest today, Rob Cunningham, has been working with them for 23 of those years. Rob earned a degree in audio Recording Technology and Marketing, had a record deal in the 80’s, and currently performs 75-80 shows a year. He currently holds the position of Brand Manager at D’Addario & Company, Inc.
